The Ecclestone Hotel London

Now, I've been told this is one of the best high-tech hotels in central London. I'm dubious about statements like this, so I thought I'd check it out myself instead. My friend wasn't lying however, he was bang on the money with his description.

The Ecclestone has iPads in every room, the rooms of which come in various sizes depending on your budget.

If I'm honest I'd go for the top room - like I did - because not only does it have a balcony, which offers fantastic views of Hyde Park, but it is naturally the largest and truly feels like a hide-away in the city.

Considering the high-tech features of the room along with its sleek interior it doesn't feel like you're in central London because of the relatively sound-proof doors and plushy touches. When I stayed with one of my girlfriends we ended up ordering takeaway, lounging on the bed and having a pig-out all night watching films on the Freeview TV.

If you get bored of the channels, however, the hotel provides you with a supply of DVDs, and of course the iPads connect via Wifi to the TV's, so you can even watch Netflix.



It's a pretty swish hotel, with modern features, so if you need to be on your laptop all day and are staying in the city, perfect. Wifi was surprisingly high-speed and there's no extra fee, it's included in the cost of the room.

For a swanky night in central, The Ecclestone is definitely where you want to be.
