Novotel Abu Dhabi Gate

Instead of a low-budget, scrimp on the details kind of hotel, it is a luxury version of the inexpensive chain, in between Abu Dhabi city Gate and Bain Al Jessrain. The hotel is only a 10-minute drive from the airport gated area.

The location wasn't a pull for me however, I just wanted a break when I was staying in AD recently and thought I'd check into the nearby hotel that walked the line between luxe and cheap.

My room was spacious, but basic. I didn't care for frills, so it didn't matter. The decor palette was white with simple oak wood furnishings.

Despite the simplicity of my hotel room, the service blew me away. Firstly, the staff took my bags up to my room and knocked before they brought me breakfast the next morning.



I had underestimated breakfast and really shouldn't have eaten the night before. It was huge. I was presented with a large fruit bowl with thick Greek yogurt and nuts. It was refreshing and just what I needed to wake me up.

I was then served coco pops, eggs, toast, hash browns and grilled tomatoes and mushrooms. It was an indulgent, but much appreciated breakfast.

Checkout was at 2pm, so I had a leisurely breakfast and took my time under the large shower head complete with L'occitane body wash, shampoo and conditioner.

I recommend for anyone who wants to relax on a budget.
