If you are looking for budget accommodation in Melbourne, Australia, and backpacker hostels are not your style, you can't go wrong with a stay at Tune Hotel Melbourne.



Tune Hotels is a budget chain originating from Malaysia, and found in locations throughout Asia, the UK and now Australia.



A stay at Tune Hotel Melbourne will vary in price. Room costs fluctuate, similar to the way low-cost airline carriers such as AirAsia work, costs vary depending on demand and how far in advance guests book. It is encouraged to "Book Early and Book Online" for the best deals.

What also makes this particular hotel chain unique is its 'pay as you use' option, whereby guests only pay for a room only rate, but have the option of paying for extra's including breakfast, late check-in/check-out, towels, toiletries, Wi-Fi, Foxtel, luggage storage and parking.



My family and I booked a family room at Tune Hotel Melbourne on a February Friday night. We were met with friendly and helpful front desk staff in a clean and spacious reception, filled with modern furnishings and decor.



Our room, positioned on the 4th floor, consisted of a double and single bed, with enough room for us to fit a bassinet for our baby. We had a television and spotless bathroom with modern large glass screened shower.

Best of all is Tune Hotel Melbourne's location in Swanston Street, Carlton, a short stroll to busy Lygon Street and10-15 minutes walk away from the heart of Melbourne.

We opted for car parking, which for the price and secure underground location is worth doing.

If we were staying longer, we might have missed not having a fridge and tea/coffee making facilities, but for one night, it didn't matter. There is a cafe downstairs in the hotel lobby selling takeaway coffee's and food if needed.



For a visit to Victoria's capital city on a budget, you can't go wrong with Tune Hotel Melbourne, although I'd recommend booking as early as possible to get the best rate.
