Dunedin, Larnach Castle is New Zealand’s only castle. While the castle itself is not available to stay in for guests as it is the private residence of the Baker family, there are many accommodation options nearby available to guests, catering to all budget types. The accommodation options include Camp Estate, Stable stay, Lodge rooms and the Peninsula experience.

The Camp Estate accommodations is situated in a country house just 500 meters from the castle gates. The house’s five spacious bedrooms are luxuriously furnished in a neo-classic style. Each room is fitted with fireplaces and views of the surrounding grounds. The Camp Estate house is also available for private let for special occasions such as weddings or a special family birthday.
Larnach Lodge is a purpose built lodge inside the grounds of the castle, right next to the historic stables. Designed as a colonial farm building recreation, it boasts harbour, ocean and peninsula views. The lodge offers twelve themed rooms, and has 35 acres of grounds and gardens to explore. Each room is equipped with ensuite, heaters, free internet access, sky tv, kitchenette where you can keep your wine bought from
duty free on your way through , parking facilities and is situated close to the Royal Albatross Colony.
The 140 year old, historically listed stable building of the Larnach Castle has been converted into Stable Stay. Stable Stay is a budget friendly option for travellers who are keen to explore the castle and offers six bedrooms with shared bathrooms. A cooked or continental breakfast is available to guests from the dining hall in the lower level of the converted stables.
Peninsula Experience: This package offers a stay in a premium lodge room , with late checkout, elm wildlife peninsula encounters, complimentary antipasto platter and bottle of wine, full cooked breakfast and castle, gardens and grounds visits.

The dining options at Larnach Castle include the Ballroom Cafe and dinner is offered in the dining hall every evening. The Ballroom Cafe is housed in the historical ballroom of the castle and outside in the courtyard. The cafe menu is prepared in the castle and is open every day of the year from 9:30am to 4:30pm. Guests are invited to dinner in the historic dining hall of the Castle. As Larnach Castle is still a private residence to the Baker family, it does not operate as a restaurant, rather offers a three course house party style dinner, served in one sitting.
