This standard 4 star hotel in Kuala Lumpur's business district is usually good value for money on weekends.

When I travel in Asia as a tourist I love to find hotels that have some sort of local charm or character. The Grand Seasons has none of that. Instead what you get is a hotel that could be anywhere in the world. I shouldn't really complain about this because it is a business orientated hotel. I only booked it because the hotel rates drop on Friday and Saturday nights when there are fewer business travellers.

The rooms are standard four star hotel rooms and were clean and well maintained.

The swimming pool is fine and great for a few laps, but lacks any of the charm and style that even the cheaper hotel swimming pools in Malaysia possess. My friend went to check out the gym while I swam and was more than happy with the machines available there.

The breakfast is great providing the normal mix of food that you find in Malaysia, including western, Chinese, Malay and Indian options. The breakfast area is pretty small though and crowded compared with similarly priced hotels in Kuala Lumpur.

The location was good for us, because it was close to the monorail and a short taxi ride to the Petronas Towers and several other tourist destinations we had not yet visited on our first stay in Kuala Lumpur.

The problems I encountered included some poor service. When I booked online I chose the option that included breakfast. However when I asked at check in to confirm that breakfast is included they simply asked me whether I wanted breakfast, and when I checked my credit card later I found I had been charged for breakfast without having been informed or even told the price.

Another complaint was that the hotel lobby was very busy and every time we took an elevator we had to wait an extended period of time. This was true morning through to early evening.

Overall the hotel was a good deal in a convenient location. Would I stay there again? Certainly, as it had better rooms than the first hotel we stayed in at Kuala Lumpur for the same price. However if returning I would look around to see if I can't find a better deal, if not I would return here. For more information, you can visit their web page here.
