As a family of three (with our 3yr old son) visiting Vanuatu, we wanted to book self catering accommodation. We booked The Coral Motel & Apartments for our first week's stay in Port Vila mid July.
The owners, an Australian couple Tony and Beth made us feel very welcome, providing us with advice on things to do and booked recommended tourist trips for us.
We arrived into Port Vila in the middle of the night, and really appreciated our welcome bowl of tropical fruit waiting in our room, giving us something to eat for breakfast the next morning.
Rooms were clean with plenty of space to store our luggage. Whilst the motel is not near a beach (Port Vila is not a beach front town), we still had the pleasure of looking out onto tropical palm tree leaves from our first floor balcony window.
Clean, spacious rooms
A fully equipped kitchen meant we were able to buy food from stalls in Port Vila's local market, bakery, and from the supermarket, preparing meals in the comfort of our accommodation when we wanted to.
We made use of the free WiFi available to guests, and laundry facilities when needed. Although we didn't find that we watched TV too much, we did occasionally use the TV and DVD player to play movies for our son.
The Coral Motel & Apartments are a little way out of the popular part of Port Vila, which isn't a bad thing as we were not disturbed by noise. Couple's without children would have no problem walking into down, but we used Port Vila's buses that were frequent, cheap and reliable.
We enjoyed every part of our stay here and feel confident recommending it to others. Two years on from our stay at The Coral Motel & Apartments and our now 5yr old still talks about it!
